Current Status: Operation
Saidpur 20 MW Diesel Power Plant, also known as Saidpur GT Power Station, is a Gas Turbine (GT) power plant situated in Saidpur town under Saidpur Sadar Upazila in Nilphamari District of Bangladesh (Location: 25.8136, 88.8848). It is sponsored by Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) as a State-owned Power Plant (SOPP) for 25 years. The power plant started its commercial operation on 25 June 1981 and, as per schedule, it was to retire on 24 June 2006. But the power plant went to retirement on 19 July 2022 after 41 years of operation.
Capacity
The installed (gross) and derated (net) capacity of the power plant is 23 MW and 20 MW respectlively.
