Rangpur 20 MW (BPDB) HSD Power Plant

Current Status: Operation

Rangpur 20 MW Diesel Power Plant, also known as Rangpur GT Power Station, is a Gas Turbine (GT) power plant situated in Balapara at Darshana union under Rangpur Sadar Upazila in Rangpur District of Bangladesh (Location: 25.7279, 89.2432). It is sponsored by Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) as a State-owned Power Plant (SOPP) for 25 years. The power plant started its commercial operation on 16 August 1988 and, as per schedule, it is to retire on 15 August 2013. But the power plant went into retirement on 2016 after 28 years of operation.

The installed capacity of the power plant is 20 MW.
