Current Status: Operation
Mymensingh 210 MW Gas Power Plant, also known as RPCL 210 MW CC Power Plant, is a Combined Cycle (CC) power plant situated under Shambhuganj Upazila in Mymensingh District of Bangladesh (Location: 24.7616, 90.4187). It is sponsored by Rural Power Company Limited (RPCL), a State-owned Enterprise (SOE) under Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board (BREB), as a publicly owned Independent Power Producer (IPP) for 22 years. The first unit (Gas Turbine) started commercial operation on 14 April 2001 while the second unit (Steam Turbine) on 19 July 2007. As per schedule, the units will retire on 13 April 2023 and 18 July 2029 respectively.
Capacity
The installed (gross) and derated (net) capacity of the power plant is 210 MW and 202 MW respectively.
