Current Status: Operation
Madhumati 105 MW Furnace Oil Power Plant, also known as Madhumati Peaking Power Plant, is a reciprocating engine-based power plant situated under Mollahat Upazila in Bagerhat District of Bangladesh (Location Map: 22.9408, 89.8103). It is sponsored by North-West Power Generation Company Limited (NWPGCL), a State-owned Enterprise (SOE) under Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB), as a publicly owned Independent Power Producer (IPP) for 20 years. The sponsor declared its Commercial Operation Date (COD) on 15 April 2019 and, as per schedule, the power plant will retire on 14 April 2039.
Capacity
The installed (gross) and derated (net) capacity of the power plant is 108 MW and 105 MW respectively.
