Khulna 225 MW (NWPGCL) Dual Fuel Power Plant

Khulna 225 MW Dual Fuel Power Plant, also known as Khulna CC Power Station, is a Combined Cycle (CC) power plant situated at Goalpara in Khalishpur Thana of Khulna City in Bangladesh. The power plant runs on Domestic Fossil Gas (DFG) and High Speed Diesel (HSD). It is sponsored by North-West Power Generation Company Limited (NWPGCL), a State-owned Enterprise (SOE) under Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB), as a publicly owned Independent Power Producer (IPP) for 22 years. First unit (150 MW) of the power plant started commercial operation on 23 December 2013 while the second unit (72 MW) on 28 June 2016. As per schedule, the units will retire on 22 December 2035 and 27 June 2038 respectively.


Capacity

The installed and net capacity of Khulna Dual Fuel Power Plant is 232 MW and 230 MW respectively.
