Current Status: Operation
Katakhali 50 MW Furnace Oil Power Plant, also known as Katakhali Peaking Power Plant, is a reciprocating engine-based power plant situated in Katakhali under Poba Upazila in Rajshahi District of Bangladesh (Location: 24.3671, 88.6756). It is sponsored by Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) as a State-owned Power Plant (SOPP) for 25 years. The power plant started its commercial operation on 17 December 2012 and, as per schedule, it will retire on 16 December 2037.
Capacity
The installed (gross) and derated (net) capacity of the power plant is 52.32 MW and 50 MW respectively.
