Current Status: Operation
Sylhet 20 MW Gas Power Plant, also known as Kumargaon GT Power Station, is a Gas Turbine (GT) power plant situated in Kumargaon under Sylhet Sadar Upazila in Sylhet District of Bangladesh (Coordinates: ###, ###). It is sponsored by Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) as a State-owned Power Plant (SOPP) for 25 years. The power plant started its commercial operation on 13 December 1986 and, as per the schedule, it was to retire on 12 December 2008. But the power plant retired on 30 June 2022 after 35.5 years of operation.
