Current Status: Operation
Shikalbaha 110 MW Furnace Oil Power Plant, also known as Baraka Karnaphuli Power Plant, is a reciprocating engine-based power plant situated in Kolagaon of Shikalbaha under Karnaphuli Upazila in Chattogram District of Bangladesh (Location: 22.3347, 91.8762). It is sponsored by Karnaphuli Power Limited (KPL), a subsidiary of Baraka Power Limited (BPL), as a private Independent Power Producer (IPP) for 15 years. KPL declared its Commercial Operation Date (COD) on 20 August 2019 and, as per schedule, the power plant will retire on 19 August 2034.
Capacity
The installed (gross) and derated (net) capacity of the power plant is 116.99 MW and 110 MW respectively.
