Current Status: Operation
Manikganj 162 MW Furnace Oil Power Plant, also known as Doreen Manikganj Power Plant, is a reciprocating engine-based power plant situated under Singair Upazila in Manikganj District of Bangladesh (Location: 23.7938, 90.2370). It is sponsored by Manikganj Power Generations Limited (MPGL), a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) of Doreen Group, as a private Independent Power Producer (IPP) for 15 years. The sponsor declared its Commercial Operation Date (COD) on 1 December 2020 and, as per schedule, the power plant will retire on 30 November 2035.
Capacity
The installed (gross) and derated (net) capacity of the power plant is 165.735 MW and 162 MW respectively.
