Current Status: Operation
Madanganj 55 MW Furnace Oil Power Plant, also known as Summit Narayanganj Power Plant (Unit-II), is a reciprocating engine-based power plant situated on MN Ghoshal Road at Tikkar Mor of Madanganj under Bandar Upazila in Narayanganj District of Bangladesh (Location Map: 23.5899, 90.5152). It is sponsored by Summit Narayanganj Power Unit-II Limited (SNPIIL), a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) of Summit Group, as a private Independent Power Producer (IPP) for 15 years. The sponsor declared its Commercial Operation Date (COD) on 29 February 2016 and, according to schedule, it is to retire on 28 February 2031.
Capacity
The installed and net capacity of Summit Narayanganj-II Power Plant is 62 MW and 55 MW respectively.
