Current Status: Operation
Kathpotti 52 MW Furnace Oil Power Plant, also known as Sinha Munshiganj Power Plant, is a reciprocating engine-based power plant situated in Kathpotti under Mirkadam Upazila in Munshiganj District of Bangladesh (Location: 23.5695, 90.4806). It is sponsored by Sinha Peoples Energy Limited (SPEL), a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) of Sinha-Medlar Group, as a private Independent Power Producer (IPP) for 15 years. The sponsor declared its Commercial Operation Date (COD) on 20 February 2015 and, as per schedule, the power plant will retire on 19 February 2030.
Capacity
The installed and net capacity of Kathpotti Power Plant is 55.3 MW and 49.224 MW respectively.
