Bhola 8 MW (BPDB) HSD Power Plant

Bhola 8 MW Diesel Power Plant, also known as Bhola Diesel Generator Power Plant or simply Bhola Diesel Power Plant, is a reciprocating engine-based power plant situated at Kheya Ghat of Char Samaia under Bhola Sadar Upazila in Bhola District of Bangladesh (Location: 22.6884, 90.6383). It is sponsored by Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) as a State-owned Power Plant (SOPP) for 25 years. The power plant started its commercial operation on 8 October 1988 and, as per schedule, it was to retire on 7 October 2013. But the power plant retired on 30 June 2020 after 32 years of operation.


Capacity

The installed (gross) and derated (net) capacity of the power plant is 8.36 MW and 6 MW respectively.
